On My Way!!
The morning of surgery — Carla shares her excitement and nerves as she heads to the hospital for an abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, and thigh lift.
Today is the day. In this morning-of update, Carla records a candid video just before heading to the hospital for three reconstructive procedures: an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentation, and thigh lift.
Her excitement is palpable, but so is the weight of the moment. "It's exciting for me, a little overwhelming too," she admits. She openly acknowledges the financial cost and expresses deep gratitude for her husband Mark's support throughout the process.
The Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Of the three surgeries, Carla considers this one the least noticeable to others — but it matters to her. The excess skin in her abdominal area had reached the point where she was essentially tucking it into her pants. "A lot of other people would not notice it, but I notice it," she says. She's eager to see how much better her clothes will fit afterward.
The Breast Augmentation
Carla suspects this surgery will surprise her with how much she appreciates the results. She's never wanted to be large-chested, and the procedure isn't a lift — it involves placing silicone gel implants through a slit beneath the breast to fill the excess skin left from weight loss. Her main concern? Making sure the implants are large enough to fill the space without making her larger than she wants. "The doctor says trust him. He knows what I want, and he will follow through. So that's what I'm going to do."
The Thigh Lift
This is the procedure Carla expects to make the biggest difference in her daily life. She describes her thighs with raw honesty: "It's almost like a horror show for me when I look down and see my thighs because they're so wrinkly, and they're so shaky, and hang so poorly." The thigh lift means she'll finally be able to wear a swimsuit, shorts, or a skirt confidently, without worrying about what others might notice.
Looking Forward
As she and Mark prepare to leave for the hospital, Carla is realistic about the recovery ahead. "I know it's going to be a rough time for my recovery, but I'm looking forward to how great I'm going to feel for the rest of the summer."
This is courage in action — not the dramatic, movie-style kind, but the quiet, determined courage of a woman who has already proven she can transform her life, and who is now taking one more step toward feeling completely at home in her body.
